 Carissa got paaaaid todaaaay.

Marcello (my hair stylist dude) was giving out these pocket calendar/organizers so I nabbed one.  It has a section to write your goals for the month, which I think is a swell idea.  My January goals are to launch my etsy shop, assemble my portfolio, and send out some resumes.  This etsy shop thing...it's going to be epic.  I plan to be so successful at knitting and selling shit that actual work becomes a waste of time.

Know what else would be a good long term goal, getting some health insurance.

I'm thinking of buying myself a 30-day metrocard.  Lately the temp has been in the 20's and super windy, and my walk to work is about a mile and a half each way.  I know I should be saving up as much money as I can, but if I cop out and take the subway everyday it comes out to be pretty much the same.  At least with the monthly I'd be able to do more exploring and yarn shopping (I NEED to get myself to Smiley's).  And considering how much I spent in Strawberry yesterday, I don't even know why I'm hesitating on this.

Writer's Block: Baby, you can drive my car

Do you have a "dream car"? If you had money to spare, would you buy a new car? If so, would you be more likely to get an eco-friendly vehicle, a vintage model, or a luxury sportscar?

Michael Westen's Charger.

My dream car would be big and fast and red.  And it would have a tape deck and a stick shift.  And we would go to Arizona together and see the Grand Canyon.

Sarah can tell you that those tiny eco-friendly cars weigh nothing and flip if the wind blows too hard.

WHY HAS NOTHING BEEN GOING RIGHT LATELY?

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY [info]pretzel I still need to treat you to lunch! (One of these days, I'm going to start looking at calenders.)

In advance, Happy New Year's!

So far, I've satisfied my crazy fangirlyness by watching the Star Trek movie several times a day. (.o.) Good times. But I need my fiery red head Katie to be around and watch it with to gush over the epicness that is having both Spocks on the same screen. :(

Go to 4:50. I'm strongly of the opinion that the movie would have been made even better by having all the actors speak in an Irish accent.

I've spent the last two hours listening to the RENT soundtrack (for the first time in YEARS) and attempting to chop and stitch that godawful entrelac beast vagina jacket into a bag.  I've cut it to bits and somehow it still looks like a vagina.  Balls.

I'm going up to Boston with Tish & co. for New Years.  I have...never been there.  It's exciting.  We're going to see this punchdrunk play thing.  I'm not sure exactly what it is, but you walk through different rooms and experience Hamlet close up.  I think.  And then we'll probably be watching the ball drop from several different bars.  It's gonna be awesome.  (Chase, if you're reading this, I will be careful and not drink a lot.)

Weird thing to think about: this is the last time we'll be able to have those New Years glasses (the ones with the eye holes in the zeros) until 2020.

Oh, so my dad took his family down to NC for Christmas, as usual.  And today he was attacked by fire ants.  Serves him right for ditching us again.  When they finally decide to move down there, I hope the ants and spiders chase him all the way back to New York.

OH, and I got a haircut today.  it's somewhere in between flapper and mushroom.  He buzzed the back, but I think it's cute.  Even though I look like an eleven year old boy.

And I never seem to rise for air.

Full fadom five thy Father lies,
Of his bones are Corrall made:
Those are pearles that were his eies,
Nothing of him that loth fade,
But loth suffer a Sea-change
Into something rich, & strange:
Sea-Nimphs hourly ring his knell
Burthen: ding dong.
Harke now I heare them, ding-Bong bell.

So I've celebrated Christmas Day by:

+ Eating enough strawberry cake to feel like L
+ Wearing half the clothes I got in one day
+ Watching the Star Trek movie for the millionth time

Heading out this weekend to see the Sherlock Holmes movie (Jude Law *drool*) and buy myself those studded Zara boots.

Breaking news!

Santa does exist!

I took a nap dreaming of strawberry shortcake, and when I woke up, it was in the fridge. D8

Happy holidays everyone. ♥
